The principal objective of Jika Movement philosophy is to build a broad representative theatrical alliance within the Free State Province of the Republic of South Africa and Africa in order to articulate the interests and needs of practitioners, to address the imbalances in the field of theatre, poetry, dance and preserve the people’s traditional heritage as a living part of the continent’s culture.

Promoting theatre, poetry and dance are not just important but essential qualities of our philosophy.
  • JPAC intends to be a friendly welcoming institution that values diversity and balances professionalism and a volunteer ethos.
  • JPAC aims to be perceived as a vibrant and healthy environment where individuals are respected and valued.
  • JPAC believes in being open and honest and transparent in all her interactions.
  • Above all JPAC believes it is important that fun and humour underpins all that we do in order that we may maximise our ability to create and play
Our vision is to be a thriving and successful artistic cultural and community venue that exists for the primary benefit of Botshabelo and surrounding areas. Our aim is to present a varied and high-quality artistic offering as well as developing a reputation for creating seasonal employment for artists. Botshabelo is one of the third largest townships in South Africa. Botshabelo is part of metro municipality but has limited resources and heavily burdened by poverty. Because of its huge population it provides a variety of unique raw talent that can be nurtured and profile the township. The facility (building that is rented from FDC) is also relevant, ideal and accessible for a Performing Arts College.
